Rytec Unveils Next PredaDoor
![]() The new industrial-strength fabric doors travel at up to 50 inches per second to improve traffic flow and reduces energy consumption by reducing airflow between climate controlled areas. An improved seal on all edges of the panel make the new model even more energy efficient. With their high speed, the doors enable forklifts and other vehicles to move from room to room without slowing down for the doors to open. If the fabric panel door is accidentally hit by a vehicle, the door will breakaway and can be reset simply by aligning the door panel and pushing a button. This new “semi-automatic” resetting feature reduces maintenance and virtually eliminates downtime. When introduced in 1993, the original PredaDoor quickly became the most installed high speed rolling door in North America. With over 10,000 PredaDoors still in operation worldwide, the original model continues to perform. “We have a customer in Michigan, a food processing plant with several of the original PredaDoors. The doors were installed quite a few years ago and they still absolutely love them. The plant manager recently told us about a milestone—another one of their doors just hit four million cycles. With four million opening and closing cycles as a benchmark, the PredaDoor quite literally set the standard for the industry,” says Bo Torrey, Rytec National Sales Manager. Rytec Corporation is the nation’s leading manufacturer of high-performance doors for industrial, commercial, pharmaceutical and cold-storage environments.
