The Only High Speed Door Engineered to Withstand a Hurricane. The Spiral Hurricane Zone (HZ) door is the first and only high speed high performance door with certified compliance from Miami-Dade County and the Florida Building Codes. Notice of Acceptance (NOA) from Miami Dade County. The Spiral HZ door is designed to comply with the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of The Florida Building Code and certified to withstand winds in excess of 149 miles per hour. Extensive testing was conducted in a state-of-the-art laboratory to ensure optimal performance in hurricane and extreme weather conditions. These tests include negative pressure, positive pressure and large and small missile impact testing. With an opening speed of up to 60 inches per second, the Spiral HZ is fast. Rigid, aluminum slats with reinforced hinges combined with the galvanized steel side columns offer security and the strength to handle a hurricane. Crisp lines give the Spiral SST-HZ door a stylish, high-tech look. Because its anodized aluminum will not corrode, you can count on that look to last for many years under even the worst weather conditions. Certified Compliant: Spiral SST-HZ Miami-Dade County, Florida NOA 12-0917.05 12/6/2012 Expiration Date: November 8, 2017 Florida Building Code: FL# FL6833 Wind ResistantCertified and tested to withstand winds in excess of 149 miles per hour. Designed to comply with the High Velocity Hurricane Zone of The Florida Building Code and Notice of Acceptance (NOA) from Miami-Dade County.High SecurityRigid, aluminum slat construction and optional, integral locking system provides unparalleled security.FastOpens at up 60 inches per second for improved traffic flow.Whisper QuietThe unique Spiral rollup design features no metal-to-metal contact, therefore offering whisperquiet operations.Energy Efficient and Tight SealAluminum slats, along with durable rubber membrane which covers the reinforced hinges, provide a 100% seal against dust pollution, drafts, and inclement weather. Insulation is standard.CONTROLLERSystem 4™ Door Controller (Standard)Incorporating state-of-the-art motion control technology, the System 4 controller combines the flexibility and performance of AC Drive technology with the ease and precision of digital control.ACTIVATORSThe System 4 door controller is designed to operate with many different types of activators, depending on the application and operating environment.Floor Induction Loop (Optional)Activation loops embedded into the concrete on both sides of the doorway substantially reduce operator error in opening and closing doors. With no moving or exposed parts, floor induction loops are extremely reliable.Motion Detectors (Optional)Motion detectors operate on microwave technology. They detect pedestrian and vehicle motion in a prescribed area. The detector sends a signal to the controller to open the door.Presence Sensors (Optional)Presence sensors detect pedestrians and vehicles in the area of the detector. Motion is not necessary. The sensor signals the controller to open the door.Radio Controls (Optional)A radio control consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The vehicle operator activates the transmitter which sends a signal to the receiver. The receiver then signals the controller to open the door.Push Button (Optional)The push button is generally used with pedestrian traffic and is typically mounted on the wall near the door. Pedestrians push the button as they approach the door, which signals the door to open.Pull Cords (Optional)The pull cords are switches mounted on the ceiling. Pedestrians and vehicle operators pull the cord as they approach the door, signaling the controller to open the door. Vehicle operators generally have to slow down to pull the cord.Multiple Activators (Optional)The System 4 door controller permits many activators to be used in multiple combinations. For example, a door can be opened by forklifts through induction floor loops and by pedestrians through a push button, each with independent closing times to allow for pedestrians passing through the door.Side Frame OptionsOptional stainless steel package available.Electrical Control OptionsSystem 4™ controller has programmable inputs and outputs to accommodate special control applications without additional electrical components.AirlocksIn airlock applications, one controller with various activators permits doors to be interconnected so only one door is open at a time.Powder CoatingOptional powder coating to RAL standard colors.Related Documents:Rytec Spiral HZ Product Information SheetRytec Spiral HZ Drawing (zipped) Rytec Spiral HZ Specification Rytec Spiral Install Manual Rytec Spiral HZ Owner's Manual 10-13-08 SpecificationsSubject to changeModelRytec® Spiral® HZ DoorStandard SizeUp to 16 feet wide by 21 feet high.Door PanelDouble-walled aluminum slats are 6 inches high by 1-9/16 inches thick.
