What Goes Wrong When a Cooler Door Underperforms

Doors that are unreliable, too slow, or don’t seal tightly cost you in spoilage, energy loss, and downtime.

How much depends on three things:

  • Temperature differential between zones

  • How often the door cycles per shift

  • Traffic type and volume at the doorway

Which Door Best Fits Your Operation?

PredaCool

Interior cold room door to maintain temperatures between cold room areas in high-cycle environments.

  • Up to 12' wide × 16' high, 3-ply Rylon® panel standard with full perimeter seals

  • Opens at up to 75 inches per second; Quick-Set Break-Away tabs allow the bottom bar to release on impact in either direction and easily be reset
PredaCool

FlexTec®

Flexible soft-edge door that self-repairs automatically after impact in either direction.

  • Up to 12' wide × 12', 1-ply Rylon® panel standard and opens at up to 100 inches per second

  • 1 million cycle/5-year limited warranty* on motor/ mechanical components (including drive teeth) and 1-ply Rylon panel material; 2-year limited warranty on electrical components

FlexTec

PredaDoor® NXT®

Handles the daily reality of pallet jack, forklift, and vehicle traffic in cold storage, manufacturing, warehousing, and parking facilities. After a hit, the bottom bar releases in either direction and resets at the push of a button. No tools, no service call.

  • Up to 16' wide × 16' high, with USDA/FDA-compliant panel material available and opening speeds up to 50 inches per second
  • 5-year limited warranty on motor, mechanical, and Rylon® panel material
PredaDoor NXT

Sure-Seal®

Keeps pace with your conveyor lines and automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). The cycle pattern matches your throughput, and a tight seal helps hold temperatures where lines cross between zones.

  • Up to 6' wide x 13' high with a compact footprint for tight installations around conveyor equipment

  • Peak opening speed up to 100 inches per second

Sure-Seal

Plexline®

Interior composite roll-up door made of chemical- and corrosion-resistant materials provides durability and a polished look.

  • Up to 16' wide × 16' high; 2-ply Rylon® panel standard with full perimeter seals and fiberglass composite side columns

  • Opens at up to 50 inches per second; Quick-Set Break-Away tabs allow the bottom bar to release on impact in either direction and easily be reset
Plexline

Turbo-Seal® Insulated

Best suited for freezer-to-ambient and freezer-to-cooler applications where keeping energy costs down matters most. An insulated fabric curtain reduces heat transfer through the door, while full perimeter brush seals keep conditioned air where it belongs.

  • Up to 12' wide × 16' high, 3-ply Rylon® panel standard with full perimeter seals

  • Average opening speed up to 101 inches per second; bottom bar  releases on impact in either direction and self-repairs if hit
Turbo-Seal Insulated

Turbo-Slide®

Increase productivity with full-height instant access in fast-paced freezer environments. Insulated EVA foam panels deliver R-values from R-17 to R-40, making it the strongest thermal barrier in the cold storage lineup.

  • Up to 10' wide × 24' high single slide; up to 16' wide × 24' high bi-parting

  • 1-million-cycle / 5-year limited warranty on mechanical components, standard door panel material, and System 4+™ Door Controller

Frequently Asked Questions

The primary difference is the temperature range and the insulation requirements that come with it. Cooler environments typically hold temperatures above freezing, generally in the 34-to-50-degree Fahrenheit range, where the goal is to control air exchange and maintain consistent cool temperatures without the condensation and frost challenges of sub-zero environments. Freezer applications require higher R-value insulation and more aggressive sealing to hold temperatures well below freezing. Several Rytec doors work across both environments, but for dedicated cooler applications the FlexTec, Plexline, and PredaCool are specifically optimized for above-freezing temperature control. For cooler to freezer or cooler to conditioned applications, see the Turbo-Seal Insulated and Turbo-Slide.
