How Rytec Uses High-Performance Doors

Today’s manufacturing facilities face increasing pressure to boost efficiency and safety, both inside and outside their buildings. At Rytec, we feel these challenges just like our customers do. To help address these issues, we’ve installed multiple high-performance doors to improve productivity, efficiency and aesthetics at both our Hartford and Jackson, Wisconsin, manufacturing facilities. Let’s take a closer look at how our doors improve operations throughout our facilities.

Exterior Applications

We utilize high-performance doors at many exterior access points to support the efficiency and appearance of our entire operation. These doors reduce noise for our neighbors, create a more efficient flow of traffic and pedestrians, and give our facilities a modern look.

Secure Access Points. Security is a top priority for us, making it essential to install doors that offer both strength and reliability. Spiral® high-performance doors are designed with rigid aluminum slats that eliminate the need for a second security door. Crisp lines give the Spiral door a stylish look, while intelligent engineering and construction make it the most secure option in high-performance doors.

Temperature Control Zones. We’ve installed several Spiral doors to control temperature fluctuations between indoor and outdoor areas. The high speeds and durable construction help minimize air infiltration during hot and cold weather months when opening and closing. We’ve also installed fabric doors to separate areas with different cooling and heating needs, helping control temperatures and maintain a comfortable climate inside our building all year long.

Loading Docks. Our Spiral doors are a great choice in shipping and receiving areas because they combine speed, durability and security. Their rapid open and close cycles streamline the flow of materials and finished products into and out of our facility, reducing wait times for trucks and minimizing energy loss. Built to withstand heavy use, they are continuously reliable to keep our operations up and running.

Areas Requiring Visibility. The Spiral® FV® door is ideal for environments where people need a clear view beyond the doorway. These doors incorporate top-to-bottom, full-width Lexan slats for extra safety and enhanced visibility of oncoming traffic.

Interior Applications

Inside a facility, high-performance doors play an important role in maintaining workflow efficiency and supporting specialized operational areas.

Area separation with fabric doorsBetween Interior Rooms. Our fabric doors are ideal for separating interior spaces in our plant and within nearly any facility. They help reduce noise transfer between production zones while maintaining fast, efficient movement of people and materials. While the doors create a clear boundary between areas, their rapid cycle times ensure productivity doesn’t slow down. These doors strike a perfect balance between separation and accessibility – supporting smooth workflow and employee comfort without compromising speed or operational efficiency.

Maintenance Areas. We’ve outfitted entrances to our maintenance and repair bays with fabric roll-up doors to streamline the movement of large equipment in and out of the area. Whether you’re handling fast-moving forklifts or wide, slow-moving loads, Rytec offers the industry’s most comprehensive line of high-performance fabric doors, built for durability, speed, and smooth operation.

Wind Tunnel Room. We test our doors’ pressure tolerances in a wind tunnel room, where maintaining strict environmental control is essential. Our high-performance doors play a key role in preserving the integrity of these tests by creating a tight seal and minimizing air exchange. Their rapid operation ensures minimal disruption during entry and exit, which helps keep test conditions consistent and reliable. The result is accurate data collection and better overall performance for pressure-sensitive testing applications.

Product Testing & Showroom . Our product testing room is the foundation of our research and development efforts. Here, prototypes and production models are evaluated for performance, durability and safety. Our Technical Support staff utilizes this room to provide support and guidance to callers into our call center, through troubleshooting techniques. A high-performance fabric door helps keep the environment stable, limiting dust, drafts and temperature fluctuation, and allows doors and large equipment to move into the room while also being part of the showroom, supporting our rigorous R&D demands, and helping move innovations from concept to reality.

Our product testing room often doubles as a customer showroom, where we showcase new technologies and features. We use our doors throughout our facilities to showcase many different models, but in this room, we can best highlight the features of our doors during live product demonstrations.

Environmental Room. Rytec recently built a new state-of-the-art Smart Factory to gain tighter control over our supply chain and resources, improve quality and increase throughput in our high-performance door manufacturing facility. This includes cutting-edge powder coat painting operations to produce the latest, most advanced high-performance doors. We installed our fabric doors in many of our rooms, including those used for painting operations, which require precise control over temperature, humidity and cleanliness. High-performance fabric doors provide vital speed and tight-sealing performance that help maintain consistent conditions. These doors also minimize air exchange during entry and exit, preserving the clean and stable atmosphere needed for quality finishes and optimal equipment performance.
